Yes its true a new update on my travel blog, sad to say it's just a post about a trip that I took months ago. But I still want to talk about it. It was a trip to the Big Bone Lick State Park. The park is located in Northern Kentucky, and is said to be "the birthplace of American Paleontology". The history behind the name of the park is because of the findings of bones from prehistoric creatures that was found there at the salt licks. It's believed that theses huge creatures would come down from as far as Canada just for the salt licks that where there. The bad news for those creatures is that it was swamp land, and you put a heavy animal on soggy ground they're going to get trapped in, thus the reason for them finding so many bones of these prehistoric animals.
One of the
things about this park that I loved was the outdoor museum with the "bog" diorama. I also enjoyed the Buffalo herd. This is deffently a place I want to come back to, but the next time I would like to camp out for the night and enjoy more of the hiking trails.
